Hopping Down The Ski Slopes
Our Easter Ski Vacation Day 1

My sister has lived in Colorado for over nine years and every year we visit her. But instead of heading to her house for a fun filled summer vacation, we decided to mix it up this year. After years of listening to her cousins ski stories, my daughter Olivia wanted to go skiing. I wasnt too sure about skiing, but I thought what the heck it will be an adventure. Bobby (my husband) and Olivia (our 14 yr old daughter) could ski and Kinley (our seven yr old daughter) and I would play in the snow.
So this past Easter, Bobby, the girls and I loaded up the
Yukon and headed west to my sisters house in Colorado. Before heading out I went online and found
MTN-resorts.com and booked our lodging in Steamboat Springs Colorado. We booked one of the Storm Meadows
Townhouses; a perfect size to accommodate my family and my sisters family. These
are great three and four bedrooms townhouses that are ski-in ski-out. The online information said the ski trail
is your backyard and boy were they right. You can actually ski right up to
your lower level balcony. This is a picture of the townhouse.
We arrived at the ski resort after attending church with my
sister and her family. After we checked
into the condo we decide to hit Gondola Square to pick up our equipment. We need snowboards and skies for Bobby,
Olivia, and some of the others with us.
Olivia needed a lot of gear for ski-school the next day. Kinley had decided before the trip that she
didnt want to go to ski school. After all it was spring break and she
shouldnt have to go to school. We
gathered all of the equipment up and headed back to the condo. Of course, several members of our party
couldnt resist the temptation and had to try out their equipment. After seeing all the fun everyone was having,
Kinley decided ski school might be fun. Kinley and her cousin Jayden (who is four) are shown with their ski equipment.

We build up quite an appetite after a couple hours of
playing in the snow. We ate at an
awesome restaurant called 8th Street Steakhouse. You get to pick out your own cut of meat and
cook it on a wood-burning grill. It was
a fabulous way to end a terrific day. Bobby, Kinley and I pose with the thick steaks we chose.
