Mexico Beach Vacation
May 10, 2008

My husband Gary took a vacation to Mexico in the summer of 2008. We had a blast! We tried a lot of really fun activities that we can't do back in the states such as parasailing, jet skiing, snorkeling, seaside sunbathing, motorboating and more. It was so much fun!!
We started off the trip by watching the waves crash against the sand through the portal of our airplane window. It was so incredible to watch these little islands and crests appear out of the water after so much blue sea. From then on we could hardly wait to land. It wasn't a very long flight, but we were very excited to hit the ground running.
We started off by exploring our resort and taking tons of pictures of the beautiful gardens, interesting amenities, and other guests. The gardens of the resort were absolutely beautiful. Just gorgeous! There were stone walkways over which tropical trees sways. Lush plants grew in immaculate patches. The garden was so detailed and intricately landscaped that it was often difficult to leave.
Our resort had many fine features and a rather Old Mexico appeal to it. Much like the Mexican version of a southern plantation, this trendy little resort was a very warm and cultured home away from home. There were many rooms to explore, but what we found when we arrive in our room was too funny!
It's not often that you see accomodations like this. The people at this resort hotel were very friendly but also (obviously) had quite the sense of humor!
Well it's Mexico so we couldn't just stay in the hotel for the entire trip. We went out and discovered what people do best at a resort hotel. Lounge. That's right. Every little patch of beach had its own cozy version of a lounge area. We saw many and enjoyed many. It was definitely nice to be able to lay down and relax. Sunbathing is one of the most calming activities to do on a beach because you're able to listen to the waves rush against the sand, the birds chirp to each other, and the gentle bustle of people sprawling out their lounge chairs. It was so relaxing!
Next we tried our hand at some of the more adrenaline filled activities. Parasailing seemed like a fun idea so we gave it a whirl. Latched onto the back of a motor boat, you take off and increase your speed until the air catches the open semi-parachute attached to your harness. You hold the bar that is attached to a long rope attached to the boat and hang on for dear life! It's a high-intensity boat ride in the air and was well worth the effort.
What was one of my biggest memories of the trip was the fun poolside cabana. The swimming area was already beautiful but now it was a thing to behold. You could swim right up to the bar and get a fruity tropical drink while you swam around. With it's festive appearance, it made choosing the swimming pool over the ocean a little bit easier.
Jet skiing, riding around on motor boats, sunbathing and more pretty much rounded out the rest of our trip. It was a great Mexican beach vacation and I can hardly wait to go back!
