Seattle Celebration

August 16, 2008

We arrived in Seattle quite late in the evening (ahem morning) which worked to our favor in regards to traffic.  Since we weren't very tired we tooled around town.  We found VMW Motorcycles where we had prearranged to keep our bikes until we returned.  Next we set about finding a room.

The next morning we met Mick Vallantine of VMW who specializes in BMW's.  He came highly recommended by many and you can tell he knows bikes.  He was gracious enough to support us and to slum around with the KLR.  I'm sure he kept it well hidden from his BMW clients.

I took this photo while waiting for the taxi to take us back to the hotel.Lets do the math.

odometer totals

Seattle     13,302

Spokane    5740

Home        2482

Including my Circle Tour of Washington with my Wife I've put 10,820 miles on my little KLR since I left in May.

That night we celebrated a successful trip at Chandler's Crabhouse.

We enjoyed the activity around Lake Union especially the amphibious planes that landed amidst all the sailboats and yachts.

The food and drink weren't bad either.Nearby there was a marina that sold many expensive yachts and sailboats.  We enjoyed an evening stroll looking at the price tags and wondering.

Honey I like this one.

What a wonderful trip we had.  I know it is something Dad wanted to do for a very long time and I am so happy we could spend some time together.

We will be travelling down the West Coast to San Diego in November be sure to pick up our trail then.
