Father and Son Alaska Tour
Hyder, Alaska

Hyder was certainly a quaint little town. We stayed at the Sealaska Inn and ate at the Seafood Express. An old school bus serves as the kitchen with an awning and chairs right out front.
For those less adventuresome they had enclosed seating in the back. All the seafood for this establishment is caught and prepared by a husband and wife team. This was some of the best food I had on the entire trip. Later in the evening we hit a couple of the local bars and watched some the characters that passed through.
In the morning we drove down this rickety pier which extended into the Portland Canal. The fog was heavy so we could not see very far. I couldn't help but feel a little sad because I knew we would leave Alaska for good this morning.
I let Dad drive off while I sat there in silence breathing in Alaska one last time.
