Father and Son Alaska Tour

Robert Campbell Highway

As we travelled from Muncho Lake to Ross River we passed through Watson Lake to explore the famed sign post forrest and to fill up with gas and food.  While eating lunch we thought we were having an "out of motorcycle experience" (out of body) when two Englishmen pulled up to the restaurant on nearly identical bikes.

Back in Fort Nelson Dad dropped his keys into the abyss of the BMW while getting gas.  We spent 30 minutes tearing the bike apart laying on its side driving it over curbs trying to get them to fall out. Finally we gave up and used his spares.  We found them in Watson Lake.

It is a good thing we filled up because there is no service between Watson Lake and Ross River.  My odometer read about 230 miles.  The next service is Carmacks 144 miles.  The gas station was closed but some locals provided some gas.  Enough for us to get going early the next morning.  Thanks guys.Did I mention the Robert Campbell Highway is mostly gravel with much construction.  This slowed our progress.  Not much scenery so it made for a long day.
