Dawson Creek, British Columbia is ground zero for the Alaska Highway.
Here is the marker erected for tourists by the citizens of Dawson Creek
Here is me driving past the real deal which is downtown.
Here is a picture of Dad praying that his beemer will make the trip.
We made good time today so we pressed on to Muncho Lake in an effort to get ahead of schedule to allow more time to do the Prudhoe Bay thing.
On the way the scenery certainly improved and the wildlife increased as the sun fell. Our first encounter was with a grizzly. Unfortunately the pictures came out too fuzzy for me to prove it.
