Since my last trip I've acquired a new gadget, a satellite messenger called Spot.

Much of Canada and Alaska will have no cell phone reception.  This device communicates via satellite and buttons that notify preset friends and family that I am OK or that I need help.  It also has a 911 button that when pushed contacts a call center with our GPS coordinates who then in turn contact the nearest emergency responders.  Hopefully we will never try it out.

As an additional service it provides a tracking option which I have to turn on daily.  ( I hope I don't forget.)  Anyone who wants to see our progress on a map can click on this link.

My boy my boy. Your off to Spokane...always liked Spokane. Did a concert there Aug 31, 1957 and made a movie "It happen at the Worlds Fair" in 1963 at Seattle. Enough of that...no way I could do this trip now but I admire your dad's courage. Most people early 70's are riding a "little rascel" power chair, but this little rascel is off and running to Alaska. I'll folllow your progress, got nothing else to do.
