Mt. Rainier Washington

Left Seattle around 11:00 a.m. in a drizzling rain. Not fun on I-5. Headed toward 410 to go thru Mt. Rainier National Park. Didn't get to see the mountain, too much fog and rain. We actually endured 29 degrees and sleet and snow going over Chinook Pass.

Thank goodness for the Aerostich, Roadmaster suit. MOney well spent. Hopefully we can come back some day and see the mountain. The drive was still beautiful, inspite of the rain. By the time we got to US-12, it was clearing off. As you enter the Yakima Valley, the geography changes.

Rolling desert hills, yet covered in green crop of various vegatables, fruits and grapes. All irrigated by the Yakima River. Made our way through the town of Yakima and on to Richland
