Rolled into Seattle on Monday afternoon around 4:00. Staying at the Marriott Waterfront. Great place, right on the pier. Had dinner last night at the Waterfront Grill. Maybe one of the best meals I've ever had in terms of the total package, excellent food, great atmosphere, great service. Very high end. My husband and I both indulged in the Copper River Salmon. Only available during a 6 week stretch this time of year. Caught in the Copper River in Alaska. I may never enjoy farm raised salmon again.
There are a series of parks running the length of the pier, starting with the Olympic Sculpture Park, The Myrtle Edwards Park and the Elliott Bay Park. We enjoyed running each morning early along the walking trail. Had dinner at another great place called The Pink Door . It was a quaint Italian restaurant located in the basement of an obscure building. The entrance was in an alley.
We were busy with our conference and didn't have a great deal of time to do any additional sightseeing, but on our next visit we want to take a Clipper Ferry day trip to whale watch or even an overnight excursion to the San Juan Islands. They have other desitnation day trips. The Seattle Art Museum ( SAM) will also be on my list for the next trip. There is much more.... can't wait till the next time.
